FORM Student Gallery presents Murder She Wore Opening Reception

Hofstra University’s FORM Student Gallery in Calkins Hall, South Campus, presents an exhibition of photography titled Murder She Wore by Alvia Urdaneta ’15. Urdaneta, who hails from Lancaster, PA, is pursuing a B.S. in fine arts, with a concentration in photography. Murder She Wore opens on Tuesday, March 11, with a reception and refreshments at 5:30 p.m. The show will be on display through March 14.

Urdaneta hopes to be a fashion photographer after graduating from Hofstra. Of the works featured in Murder She Wore, she hopes to push the concept of a fashion ad beyond the simple still-life and witty tagline. She employs a playful feminism in a gruesome manner, sure to leave visitors unsettled and intrigued. With Murder She Wore, Urdaneta brings new techniques she has developed, strong lighting skills and shock value.

Admission is free and open to the public. Viewing hours are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. For more information call the Department of Fine Arts Design and Art History at 516-463-5474.
