Family Orientation

Welcome to Hofstra's Family Orientation! Parents and family members of incoming students learn about transition to college and campus life through information sessions and interaction with staff and students. Please note that Family Orientation is separate from student orientation. Hofstra University is planning our summer orientation for incoming first-year students as an on-campus, three-day, two-night program. Family Orientation, takes place on the first day, Tuesday, and lasts one full day, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Please note that, due to the evolving nature of regulations and guidance related to COVID-19, we ask that you DO NOT MAKE ANY TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS AT THIS POINT. In the event that the program moves to an online format, we will update the information on our web page.

The Family Orientation program will include online sessions on wellness and safety, academic curriculum and advising, the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), life in residence halls, student and parent engagement programs, commuting student programs and services, and faculty expectations.

PARKING NOTICE

Hofstra University is pleased to have the public join us for some of our on-campus events, which are held for the benefit of our students. Please be aware, when attending events during the school year, when classes are in session, parking is often limited on South Campus to faculty and students. There is additional parking available on North Campus, approximately a 10-minute walk from Adams Playhouse, through the Student Center and over the unispan. Thank you for your cooperation.
