Considering a career change? Many students emerge from college into the job market and consider changing directions, and many consider turning their background degree and knowledge into an opportunity to go into teaching. Join us for a presentation and discussion of Hofstra University’s graduate programs in secondary education, which are designed to meet the needs of those wanting to pursue teaching certification with adolescents. Topics covered will include an overview of subject areas and programs, background requirements, pathways to become certified, and the needs of the job market.


This event is geared towards those pursuing first time teaching certification. Areas of study include social studies, English, science, mathematics, art, music, business, and family & consumer sciences.

Hofstra University is pleased to have the public join us for some of our on-campus events, which are held for the benefit of our students. Please be aware, when attending events during the school year, when classes are in session, parking is often limited on South Campus to faculty and students. There is additional parking available on North Campus, approximately a 10-minute walk from Adams Playhouse, through the Student Center and over the unispan. Thank you for your cooperation.
