World Radio Day

Hofstra campus radio station, WRHU, is participating in World Radio Day, in celebration of WRHU winning the 'WRD' Award from UNESCO. This special broadcast covers 72 straight hours starting February 12 and running to February 14. Stations in collaboration with this event in which will dedicate an hour of their airtime towards WRHU and these stations will be taking over an hour of our broadcasting to showcase their unique community message and dedication towards broadcasting all-day Feb 12th.

WRHU was recognized for its efforts during the [COVID] crisis, expanding its content as student and community staffers worked and broadcast from their homes during a New York state lockdown. For example, its “Well Said with Dr. Ira Nash” podcast, a collaboration with the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell, increased its weekly programming to bring accurate health information about COVID-19 to listeners.

PARKING NOTICE

Hofstra University is pleased to have the public join us for some of our on-campus events, which are held for the benefit of our students. Please be aware, when attending events during the school year, when classes are in session, parking is often limited on South Campus to faculty and students. There is additional parking available on North Campus, approximately a 10-minute walk from Adams Playhouse, through the Student Center and over the unispan. Thank you for your cooperation.
