Writing Proficiency Exam
The new Writing Proficiency Exam has three components: Step 1: upload a 3 - 5 page, documented essay (this paper should include at least one source with a works cited page and composed for a college class) Step 2: read a short essay about writing and revision strategies; and Step 3: write a minimum 750-word timed response essay about your experience crafting the essay you uploaded in Step 1.

If you do not have a college-level, documented essay, or if you want more writing support, please register for WSC 2A, a one-credit, five-week DL course, beginning mid-semester on March 15th. WSC 2A shares the same learning goals and objectives as the full-semester WSC 002 class, but the smaller class size will provide step-by-step writing instruction to prepare for the Writing Proficiency Exam. This class is graded on a pass/fail basis, and the one-credit cost is included in your full-time tuition.
Please email Eileen.Greco@hofstra.edu if you have questions about the exam or the WSC 2A classes.
Date: February 26
Time: 8 am or 2 pm
You must register through your Hofstra portal to sit for this exam. Registration for this exam will open on Monday, January 25th.
