Living on Long Island: Housing Discrimination and Homeownership

Affordable housing has become more difficult to find across the United States, but especially on Long Island, which is one of the most expensive areas in the country. These issues intersect with racism and practices like redlining which have lasting impacts to this day. Hofstra’s Center for Civic Engagement partners with the Uniondale Community Land Trust to discuss the history of housing on Long Island, living off campus as a student, and how to prepare for homeownership.
