Men's Basketball vs. Iona

The Hofstra men's basketball team will play its second of three straight home games on Saturday when it hosts Iona at 4 p.m.

The Pride will be looking for its second "win" of the season over the Gaels as Willie Pride of Hofstra defeated Killian the Gael of Iona, 2-0, in a mascot battle of Rock Paper Scissors back on November 4 to earn Hofstra home-court advantage in this season's meeting.

The game will air on FloHoops and WRHU will provide an audio-only broadcast available on Pride Productions and WRHU.org.

Hofstra is 1-1 this season and picked up its first victory of the season on Monday with a 73-58 win over Fairleigh Dickinson.

Iona dropped its season opener on Monday to Seton Hall.

Two of the top teams in the New York Metropolitan area, Hofstra and Iona have met 40 times all-time but this will be the first meeting between the schools since the 2011-12 season. The all-time series is tied at 20 and the Pride knotted up the series with an 83-75 win back in 2011. The first-ever meeting occurred during the 1946-47 campaign.

This event is closed to the public. There are no tickets available.

Watch on FLOHOOPS.
