'Celebrating Our Own' featuring Glenn Greenberg MFA '20 and Professor Julia Markus

Hofstra's Great Writers, Great Readings literary series presents “Celebrating Our Own”. Hofstra Alumni and students of Hofstra's creative writing programs discuss their published works and the craft of writing. This evening will feature Glenn Greenberg MFA '20 and Professor Julia Markus.

Earlier this year, lifelong Beatles fan and freelance writer Glenn Greenberg got a dream assignment when he was hired by Bauer Media to author a magazine on John Lennon, commemorating his 80th birthday and the 40th anniversary of his murder.

In this conversation with his MFA advisor Julia Markus, Greenberg will discuss the painstaking research that goes into entertainment writing--even when you think you know everything there is to know about your subject.

Greenberg is an award-winning editor/writer whose work has appeared in numerous books, comic books, Web sites, and lifestyle and news magazines.

Julia Markus, Professor of English and Director of Undergraduate Creative Writing at Hofstra, is the author of four novels and four biographies, the most recent of which is Lady Byron And Her Daughters.
