Network with Pride: Writers House

Stay engaged and build connections - Network with Pride! Join us in our new series, Network with Pride. Login to zoom to engage as professionals from a variety of industries share valuable career and industry information, job search advice, recruiting opportunities, and more. Students will be able to join in the live chat or tune in to our YouTube channel to view the conversation at a later time. This week's session is co-sponsored by the Hofstra English Society and features Michale Mejias, the Founding Director of the Writers House Intern Program. Writers House is a New York-based literary agency that represents authors at all stages of their careers. Writers House provides an extraordinary amount of individual client attention combined with the benefits of full service foreign rights, subsidiary rights, and contracts departments. Michael's approach to training people for entry-level positions in publishing has successfully transitioned 300 program graduates into entry level jobs in the industry. He has considerable experience in talent recruiting, onboarding, career counseling, job placement, employee relations, professional development, curriculum planning and design, and curriculum implementation. Michael earned his BA in Theatre and MA in Theatre Literature, History and Criticism from Hunter College
