About Tsedale M. Melaku
Tsedale M. Melaku is a Sociologist, Postdoctoral Research Fellow at The Graduate Center, CUNY, and author of the 2019 book You Don't Look Like a Lawyer: Black Women and Systemic Gendered Racism, which reflects the emphasis of her scholarly interests on race, gender, class, workplace inequality, diversity, and occupations. You Don’t Look Like a Lawyer focuses on how race and gender play a crucial role in the experiences of women of color in traditionally white institutional spaces, and specifically Black women. Dr. Melaku’s work has been featured in the Harvard Business ReviewNew York TimesBloomberg LawDiverse: Issues in Higher EducationNBC Left Field, the TODAY Show, and the Fair Observer. Her interdisciplinary research on women in the workplace unites three strands of significant sociological inquiry: diversity in the workplace, women in positions of leadership, and the impact of intersectional identities on advancement opportunity. Dr. Melaku is currently working on her second book, The Handbook on Workplace Diversity and Stratification. She received her Ph.D. and M.Phil. in Sociology from The Graduate Center, City University of New York, and her B.A. in Sociology and Africana studies from New York University. About Tony Roche

Tony joined the Asset & Wealth Management business in 2020 as Head of Strategy. In this role he is responsible for the delivery and execution of large scale strategic initiatives across the global AWM Operations organization. In addition he is responsible for executing strategies that further incorporates the firm initiatives to promote fairness and equity for all employees, customer and communities. 

Tony has a Bachelor's of Business Administration from Hofstra University and a Master of Business Administration in Corporate Finance from Dowling College. He also has Lean Six Sigma certification in Process Improvement and Project Management. Tony is actively involved in community activities, and is a lifetime member of the National Black MBA Association, and a member of the American Insurance Association, the National African American Insurance Association and the Alpha Phi Alpha, Fraternity Inc.


About Debra A. Sandler
Debra A. Sandler is a visionary global C-level executive with strong marketing and operating management experience, a consistent record of creating, building and leading businesses and iconic brands while driving significant growth at some of the world’s leading blue-chip companies. She has built and led ground-breaking multi-million dollar platforms in non-traditional channels; led start-ups and brand innovations; launched mega brands, developed award-winning big idea campaigns, and worked on multi-billion dollar segments as a management team member.

A seasoned Boardroom executive, Ms. Sandler has been included in the Most Influential Board Directors by WomenInc. Ms. Sandler is a Member of the Board of Directors at Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) Inc., the Dollar General Corporation and the Gannett Company where she is Chair of the Transformation Committee.  She is also a member of the Board of Advisors for Pharmavite, LLC. a wholly owned subsidiary of Otsuka Pharmaceuticals. Ms. Sandler is a Trustee of her alma mater Hofstra University and a member of the Executive Leadership Council and the Latino Corporate Directors Association.
