Dean's Business Scholars, join us for an exclusive workshop led by Hofstra University's Center for Career Design and Development, Virtual Skills to Pay the Bills: How to make yourself more marketable to employers with the skills you’ve learned from the virtual shift.

Join us for a program that will put a positive twist on the virtual shift! During this workshop, we will discuss the skills you have gained as a result of the pandemic, and how to best market them to future employers. Whether you’ve brushed up on your digital technology skills, completed online certifications, or used the time to conduct research on your future career path, the Center for Career Design & Development will show you how to leverage your newfound skills to show employers that you are ready for whatever comes your way!

The session will be presented by Sabrina Iaria, Career Advisor, Center for Career Design and Development and Melissa Castello, Director, Human Resources, EvensonBest LLC, an interior office design firm in Manhattan.

This event will count toward your event attendance requirement. 

About Melissa Castello

Melissa Castello is the Director of Human Resources at EvensonBest, an interior office design firm in Manhattan. Melissa has more than 15 years of strategic human capital planning experience.  She is responsible for enhancing the overall employee experience at all EvensonBest locations; developing the intern and full-time training curriculums; implementing standard hiring and onboarding practices; and creating new programs to foster employee engagement.  However, one of her biggest roles is managing and developing an ongoing talent pipeline at all levels.

She joined EvensonBest after working in professional services firms on Wall Street, Long Island and London. Melissa's roles always incorporate talent acquisition and retention initiatives, training programs, performance management, and total rewards programs. She actually began her professional career working with Human Resources information systems here at Hofstra University.

Melissa earned her B.A. in Public Communication from American University and her M.B.A from Hofstra University. She is an adjunct professor at Mercy College, and Molloy, a board member of SHRM LI, co-chairs the College Relations committee and volunteers a local animal shelters.

Please be aware, when attending events during the school year, when classes are in session, parking is often limited on South Campus to faculty and students. There is additional parking available on North Campus, approximately a 10-minute walk from Adams Playhouse, through the Student Center and over the unispan. Thank you for your cooperation.
