Fake News and the COVID-19 Pandemic

As the world continues to tackle the raging COVID-19 pandemic, this panel explores critical issues in fake news, its implications, and evolving approaches to combat it with media literacy. Panelists will discuss the impact of misinformation and disinformation in a time of public health crises here and globally, including messaging from and within China.  Join Professors of Media Studies Dr. Jingsi Christina Wu and Dr. Sue Drucker, and Professor of Journalism Russell Chun for a discussion of these topics. Dr. Wu recently published a chapter in the book co-edited by Dr. Drucker and Professor Chun, titled Fake News: Real Issues in Modern Communication.
