Virtual Tour of Russian Poetry with Benjamin Rifkin

When Americans think of Russian literature, they tend to think of Dostoevsky, Tolstoy, and Chekhov.  But Russians think first of their poets.  In this hour-long presentation, Dr. Rifkin will introduce works by the greatest Russian poets of the 19th, 20th, and even the 21st century and read them in Russian so you can hear the rhythm and rhyme of each poem, while at the same time you’ll be able to read the line-by-line translation of each poem.  Among the poets featured in this tour will be:  Alexander Pushkin, Mikhail Lermontov, Anna Akhmatova, and Joseph Brodsky.
