46th Annual Hempstead for Hofstra/Hofstra for Hempstead Scholarship Dinner

The Hempstead for Hofstra/Hofstra for Hempstead Scholarship Dinner began 46 years ago to raise funds for deserving students from the Village of Hempstead to attend Hofstra University. This year’s dinner is Thursday, April 2, 2020, at 6 p.m. in the Main Dining Room of Hofstra’s Sondra and David S. Mack Student Center, North Campus.

Since its inaugural event, hundreds of young men and women have benefited from the scholarship money raised by these dinners. The Hempstead for Hofstra/Hofstra for Hempstead event also strengthens the bond between the Village of Hempstead and Hofstra University. The evening includes the annual presentation of the prestigious Unispan Award to individuals whose professional or personal lives have enriched the Hempstead community. The Unispan Award, named for the original pedestrian bridge over Hempstead Turnpike that unites Hofstra’s north and south campuses, symbolizes the close ties between the University and the Village of Hempstead.

Tickets are $125 per person. Ticket and sponsorship packages are also available. To make your reservations and other purchases online, please visit hofstra.edu/h4h, or contact Kristen Ehrling, Special Events Coordinator in the Office for Development and Alumni Affairs, at 516-463-5339. Hofstra University is pleased to have the public join us for some of our on-campus events, which are held for the benefit of our students. Please be aware, when attending events during the school year, when classes are in session, parking is often limited on South Campus to faculty and students. There is additional parking available on North Campus, approximately a 10-minute walk from Adams Playhouse, through the Student Center and over the unispan. Thank you for your cooperation.
