Proficiency Exam Workshops

The Hofstra Writing Center, in conjunction with the Department of Writing Studies and Rhetoric, will be offering a series of Proficiency Exam workshops throughout the Spring 2020 semester. Because the Writing Proficiency Exam is a graduation requirement for all undergraduate students at Hofstra, the Writing Center will be offering Proficiency Exam workshops to assist students in attaining this goal. These workshops are designed to familiarize students with the nature of the exam as well as provide lessons in deep reading, brainstorming, organization, development, and review of an argumentative essay. Specific topics such as proper format, citation usage, and grammar will also be addressed.

These workshops are geared toward transfer students and those who have not yet satisfied this graduation requirement.
