IBM Global Skills Academy: Artificial Intelligence (AI) Overview Workshop

This 2.5-hour workshop provides an overview of the IBM Global Skills Academy’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) course. The session will explore the evolution and relevance of AI in the world today. Discussions will enable participants to learn about AI building blocks, including natural language processing, machine learning, virtual agents, and computer vision as well as considering AI’s impact on various areas of business and strategies to prepare students for an AI-focused future. Participants will experience first-hand how to build AI solutions utilizing IBM’s cloud-based tools.

This workshop is open to: Zarb faculty, Continuing Education faculty, Zarb graduate students, and Zarb Dean's Business Scholars.

Course instructors: Hak J. Kim, PhD, Associate Professor of Information Systems and Business Analytics, and Kathleen Bakarich, PhD, Assistant Professor of Accounting, Taxation, and Legal Studies in Business

***Participants must bring their own laptops and must register for an IBM Cloud account before attending. 

To create an IBM Cloud Account:

1. Sign up for an IBM login ID - When asked for an e-mail ID, use the same institution authorized email for your IBM ID (this ID will be used in all the future steps).

2. Use your IBM login ID to access the IBM Cloud lite services - In the section "Login to IBM Cloud" enter the ID you created in the previous step; click continue
