Transgender Voice Clinical Management

The Department of Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences is hosting "Transgender Voice Clinical Management." This is a discussion about the trans and gender non-conforming population, their needs, and the cultural competency involved in their voice therapy. Surgical methods for voice feminization will be described, including glottoplasty and related speech and language pathology interventions.

Guest speakers are Dr. David Rosenthal, Director of the Center for Transgender Care, and Assistant Professor of Medicine and Pediatrics, Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell; and Dr. Joshua Silverman, Associate Professor in Otolaryngology at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell and a frequent collaborator with the Center for Transgender Care.

Dr. Patrizia Bonaventura, Assistant Professor of HPHS, will moderate.
