Shake-A-Rake

We invite our Hofstra Pride to join us for Shake-A-Rake, our largest community service opportunity! Volunteers will rake and bag leaves for the residents of Hempstead and Uniondale. Groups of volunteers will be assigned to homes to rake. Volunteers with vehicles will drive their groups to their assigned homes. On the day of the service, all volunteers will meet in Hofstra USA at the time of their session for a pre-service meting, FREE meal, and a community picture. Upon completion of the service, all volunteers will receive a free Napolini's or Jersey Mike's meal pass.

Date: Saturday November 16th 2019

Session 1: 8:30-11:30am (Breakfast at 8:30, event begins at 9:00)

Session 2: 12:00-2:30pm (Lunch at 12:00, event begins at 12:30)

VOLUNTEERS MUST SIGN UP BY FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 8TH TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS SERVICE! AFTER VOLUNTEERS SIGN UP, THEY MUST PICK UP THEIR RELEASE FORMS FROM THE OFFICE OF COMMUTING STUDENT SERVICES AND COMMUNITY OUTREACH (STUDENT CENTER, ROOM 221) AND MUST COMPLETE AND BRING THESE FORMS ON THE DAY OF SERVICE

 

We can only accept 250 students per session, and you can ONLY SIGN UP FOR ONE SESSION

PARKING NOTICE

Hofstra University is pleased to have the public join us for some of our on-campus events, which are held for the benefit of our students. Please be aware, when attending events during the school year, when classes are in session, parking is often limited on South Campus to faculty and students. There is additional parking available on North Campus, approximately a 10-minute walk from Adams Playhouse, through the Student Center and over the unispan. Thank you for your cooperation.
