Hofstra Opera Theater: The Magic Flute

Mozart’s musical fairy tale, The Magic Flute, will be performed by Hofstra Opera Theater at the Toni and Martin Sosnoff Theater, John Cranford Adams Playhouse, South Campus. The plot of the opera follows Prince Tamino who is recruited by the Queen of the Night to rescue her daughter Pamina from the evil high priest Sarastro. Tamino, armed with a magic flute, heads out on this quest with his companion Papageno. When they find Pamina, they attempt to escape Sarastro's world. Tamino undergoes a series of trials to be deemed worthy of marrying Pamina.

Fully staged and performed in German with English subtitles, the production features artistic direction and co stage direction by Isabel Milenski, co stage direction by James Smith and musical direction by Scott Jackson Wiley.



There will be two performances.

Tickets: $10 general admission; $8 senior citizen (over 65); Two free tickets with current HofstraCard. 

Tickets may be purchased through the Hofstra Box Office at 516-463-6644, online or at the door. (Please note, free tickets for Hofstra community members cannot be reserved online. They may be picked up at the Box Office.) If seats are still available, they will be sold at the door starting 90 minutes prior to showtime at the Box Office.
