Zucker School of Medicine presents Taking Care of Puerto Rican Patients

Join Zucker School of Medicine as we welcome Dr. Debora Silva, a Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Puerto Rico who will lead a workshop on taking care of Puerto Rican patients. During her presentation, she will cover the history of Puerto Rican identity within the United States as well as health issues and disparities of Puerto Ricans residing on the island and on the mainland. She will also discuss how federal policies and access problems have impacted the health outcomes of Puerto Rican patients after Hurricane Maria.
