Policy Innovation Hackathon

On October 11, 2019, Hofstra students are invited to participate in a Policy Innovation Hackathon with the office of the Nassau County Comptroller at the ideaHUb (new School of Business building).

Students will break up into teams and will have the opportunity to devise a new policy solution to an issue facing the next generation of Long Islanders. The Nassau County Comptroller will present the policy question and students will use a business-oriented framework from the Center for Entrepreneurship.

Students will receive breakfast and lunch and engage in networking with stakeholders from regional organizations.

At the end of the event, students will pitch to a panel a judges. The winning team will receive a $500 prize (must be a Hofstra student to win, the prize will be equally divided among team members).

The Policy Innovation Hackathon is sponsored by Bethpage Federal Credit Union.

Students must register for the opportunity to participate in this unique event.  Teams will be determined at the beginning at the event. Students should bring laptop computers.
