Girls & Women with Bleeding Disorders Clinic: Best Practice Today for Brighter Tomorrows
Education symposium presented by health care professionals advocating for the health and wellness for girls and women living with inherited bleeding disorders. Learn how to recognize a bleeding disorder. Learn what’s new in current medicine and tools useful in treating females with a genetic bleeding disorder. Families and health care professionals including pediatricians, gynecologists, dentists, advanced care providers, school nurses, guidance counselors, medical and nursing students welcomed to attend. Northwell Health Cohen Children’s Girls and Women with Bleeding Disorders Clinic allows for reassurance and confidence for girls diagnosed and transitioning into adulthood with a chronic bleeding disorder.
As many as 1 in 10 women with heavy menstrual periods may have a bleeding disorder. If left untreated, bleeding disorders raise your risk for anemia and dangerous bleeding after childbirth and surgeries.
