Summer Family Orientation

The Family Orientation is a day-long program on the first day of each three-day New Student Orientation. Parents and family members of incoming students learn about transition to college and campus life through information sessions and a lunch with administrators and faculty. Past programs have included sessions on wellness and safety, academic curriculum and advising, financial aid, the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), life in residence halls, commuting student programs and services, and technology on campus. Parents and family members also have a chance to attend a campus tour. The Family Orientation program begins at 9 a.m. and finishes around 5:30 p.m. Transfer students and their families attend orientation on Monday, July 29. International families are invited to attend the family orientation program after the move-in in August; more information will be emailed to your student's Pride email account.

Hofstra University is pleased to have the public join us for some of our on-campus events, which are held for the benefit of our students. Please be aware, when attending events during the school year, when classes are in session, parking is often limited on South Campus to faculty and students. There is additional parking available on North Campus, approximately a 10-minute walk from Adams Playhouse, through the Student Center and over the unispan. Thank you for your cooperation.
