The exam lasts two hours, but extra time is available if the student registers with SAS at least one week in advance.
The students can visit our website for details on this exam: http://www.hofstra.edu/academics/colleges/hclas/writing/wrtctr/wrtctr-proficiency-exam.html.
If students would like additional help with their writing before the exam, please schedule an appointment with the Writing Center at www.hofstra.edu/writingcenter. We also offer two one-credit writing workshops (WSC 1T and WSC 2A) where students can learn strategies for crafting effective sentences and paragraphs.
