Italian-American Experience Lecture Series: Angels in the Flesh

The Italian-American Experience Lecture Series will explore Angels in the Flesh. Lynn Lawner will discuss “the splendors and miseries” of Renaissance Italian courtesans, major figures in the cultural and social life of the era, above all in Rome and Venice. Muses and models for great writers and artists, they were noted for their own poetry, musical talent, and conversation, in addition to amorous skills.
