Being Transracial Post-Dolezal with Lydia X.Z. Brown
A guest lecture by Lydia X.Z. Brown in commemoration of Asian Pacific Islander Heritage Month. Join disability justice advocate, organizer, writer, and transracial adoptee Lydia X. Z. Brown for a guest lecture on the complexities of identifying as a queer, transgender, disabled, transracial adoptee after Rachel Dolezal made headlines in 2015 over claims of being a "transracial" African-American woman.
Co-sponsored by the Hofstra Cultural Center, the Queer and Trans People of Color Coalition, and Hofstra’s Asian American Pacific Islander Alliance in collaboration with Intercultural Engagement and Inclusion, Collegiate Women of Color, the Gender Identity Alliance and The Pride Network.
