Newman Club Weekly Meeting

Weekly meeting of the Newman Club, the Catholic student organization.

Time: 9-10 p.m.

Location: Student Center Room 143

As the student-run Catholic organization on campus, we strive to encourage all students to grow deeper in their faith.  We offer fellowship, service opportunities, bible study, and prayer.  It is our mission to serve not only the Hofstra community but the larger community of Long Island and abroad.  We work closely with the Newman Clubs and Catholic Campus Ministries of other surrounding universities, such as Adelphi University, Stony Brook University, and LIU Post.  We typically host, in cooperation with CCM, two mission trips (one abroad, one domestic) and two retreats per year. Recent mission trips have included doing work in Long Beach, NY after Hurricane Sandy, doing home improvements in Appalachian Kentucky, and exploring faith communities in the Dominican Republic and Mexico.

Our mission is to know Christ Jesus and fulfill His Great Commission by first living and then communicating the fullness of life within the family of God.

Hofstra University is pleased to have the public join us for some of our on-campus events, which are held for the benefit of our students. Please be aware, when attending events during the school year, when classes are in session, parking is often limited on South Campus to faculty and students. There is additional parking available on North Campus, approximately a 10-minute walk from Adams Playhouse, through the Student Center and over the unispan. Thank you for your cooperation.
