2018/2019 Annual Writing Contest Submission Deadline

The Hofstra University Department of Writing Studies and Rhetoric announces our 2018/2019 Annual Writing Contest, "What Is Honor?" Essay topic and guidelines: In a 1,000-word essay, discuss the nature of honor in the 21st century. Essays must be documented and follow MLA style. 

PRIZES: First Place - $500; Second Place - $250; Third Place - $100.

Contest opens Monday, November 5, 2018.
Winners will be announced during May 2019.

Eligibility: All current Hofstra undergraduate students are invited to participate.
Essay submission: Email the essay as a Word document to WSRwritingcontest@hofstra.edu.
Deadline: Monday, March 25, 2019, before midnight.

PARKING NOTICE

Hofstra University is pleased to have the public join us for some of our on-campus events, which are held for the benefit of our students. Please be aware, when attending events during the school year, when classes are in session, parking is often limited on South Campus to faculty and students. There is additional parking available on North Campus, approximately a 10-minute walk from Adams Playhouse, through the Student Center and over the unispan. Thank you for your cooperation.
