Thanksgiving Homestay Program

The Office of Parent and Family Programs and International Student Affairs invite you to participate in the Thanksgiving Homestay Program! Whether you are a domestic student looking for a place to spend the holiday or an international student who wants to learn more about U.S. culture, this is a great opportunity to enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving dinner with an American host family. Hosts include families of Hofstra students, alumni, administration, staff or faculty. Depending on the arrangements, you may spend one or several days with your host family during the Thanksgiving break (November 22-25).

If you would like to participate, please come to the ISA office in 202 Roosevelt Hall to fill in an application. Space is limited so be sure to sign up by Tuesday, November 6, 2018 to reserve your spot.

Please note, the program pairs students and hosts based only on the information that each provides in their applications for the program. Hofstra has not independently verified those statements, conducted any background screens, or checked the host’s housing conditions in any way. The Program relies entirely on volunteer hosts and participating students. Once the host family is identified and matched with you, you will need to communicate directly with the family about transportation and the length of stay. After you are paired with a family, ISA will introduce you via email to make the necessary arrangements.

Please contact international{at}hofstra.edu if you have any questions.
