Men's Basketball vs. UNCW

The Hofstra Men's Basketball team will return to the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex on Thursday when it hosts UNCW. The Pride will bring the nation's third-longest active win streak into the contest at 12 games. Tip-off from the Mack Sports Complex is slated for 7 p.m.

Tickets can be purchased at, by calling (516) HOF-TIXX or by stopping by the Hofstra Athletics Ticket Office in the lobby of the Mack Sports Complex during normal business hours. In honor of the team's win streak - premium tickets, normally priced at $20, are available for $12.12 using code "TWELVE" at

With road wins at William & Mary and Elon last week, Hofstra improved to 15-3 overall and 5-0 in Colonial Athletic Association play. The 12-game win streak is the fourth-longest overall in program history and the second-longest in program history at the NCAA Division I level (since 1966-67). In addition, no Hofstra team had started CAA play with five start victories since joining the league in 2001-02.

Senior Justin Wright-Foreman is tops on the Pride in scoring at 26.9 points per game and he ranks third in the country in that category. Senior Desure Buie has teamed up with Wright-Foreman for a lethal backcourt as he is averaging 9.6 points and 5.1 assists per outing. Hofstra has also gotten outstanding contributions from junior Eli Pemberton (14.1 points per game) and graduate student Jacquil Taylor (6.5 points and 7.8 rebounds per game).

UNCW is 7-11 overall and 3-2 in conference play. The Seahawks split a pair of home games last week, falling to Delaware before earning a 97-83 win over Drexel on Saturday. Devontae Cacok has been a force all season for UNCW and is averaging team-highs of 14.9 points and 11.7 rebounds, while also posting team-highs of 16 steals and 11 blocks. Jeantal Cylla is second on the team in scoring at 13.9 points per game, while Ty Gadsden ranks third in scoring at 9.7 points per outing.

Hofstra is 19-21 all-time against UNCW, with all 40 meetings occurring since the Pride joined the CAA in 2001-02. The Seahawks won two of the three meetings last season, including defeating the Pride in the CAA Quarterfinals. Hofstra earned the win at home last season by the score of 96-76.
