Men's Basketball vs. Rosemont (PA)
The Hofstra Men's Basketball team will play its final non-conference game of the season on Saturday when it hosts Rosemont. Tip-off from the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex is scheduled for 1 p.m. against the Ravens, a NCAA Division III institution located in Rosemont, Pennsylvania, and a member of the Colonial States Athletic Conference.
Hofstra (9-3) extended its win streak to six games with a 71-64 victory over Stony Brook on Wednesday evening. Senior Justin Wright-Foreman scored a game-high 25 points, while graduate student Jacquil Taylor tallied his first Hofstra double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds in helping lead the Pride to the victory.
Wright-Foreman is tops on the team in scoring with 25.7 points per game, while Taylor is first in rebounding with 7.6 per contest. Senior Desure Buie leads the team with 48 assists and is third with 9.7 points per outing.
Rosemont is 3-6 this season and is coming off a 95-54 loss at Lafayette on Wednesday. Four players average in double figures for the Ravens as Basil Thompson leads the way with 18.5 points, while Jalil Myers (15.0), Keith Blassingale (14.0) and Jacob Simonson (14.0) also are in double figures. Myers averages 9.0 rebounds per game and Blassingale has a team-best 19 assists.
This is the first-ever meeting between Hofstra and Rosemont.
Following this game, Hofstra will open Colonial Athletic Association play on Friday, December 28 when it hosts longtime rival Delaware at 7 p.m.
