How Will the 2018 Elections Influence Policy Making and the 2020 Race for the White House?

Peter S. Kalikow Center for the Study of the American Presidency presents How Did the 1968 Elections Change American Politics? A 50-Year Retrospective on Elections and Foreign Policy. With narrow governing majorities in the House and Senate, the 2018 midterm elections will significantly influence prospects for policy making in the 116th Congress and guide campaign narratives in the 2020 race for the White House.  This panel will examine the election results and their consequences for executive-legislative cooperation as the next presidential election approaches.
