Healthcare Entrepreneurship Community Challenge Regional Symposium
In 2017 Hofstra University received a U.S. Economic Development Administration i6 Challenge grant to launch the Healthcare Entrepreneurship Community Challenge (the Challenge), a program to inspire entrepreneurs to develop innovations that respond to healthcare issues in underserved communities on Long Island, in New York City, and in the Hudson Valley. The Challenge is a partnership between the Center for Entrepreneurship, the School of Health Professions and Human Services (HPHS), the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell, and Northwell Ventures. The program culminates in a Regional Symposium, where the entrepreneurs will exhibit their innovations and pitch for a chance to win $25,000 in prize money sponsored by Northwell Health, Digital Remedy, HPHS, the Office of the Provost, and the Frank G. Zarb School of Business. Entrepreneurs were selected in advance. Spectators are welcome and should register prior to the event.
