3rd Annual Bike-to-Work Parade

Show your support for creating a more bike-able and walk-able Long Island by participating in the 3rd Annual Bike-to-Work Parade on Saturday, April 28th. Gathering for the parade will be in the patio behind HofUSA at 9 am. There is both a walking route and a biking route. The biking route is a 6.5 mile long loop and has police escort. The walking route is a 1.9 mile loop (with a 1.5 mile cut-off) and is entirely on sidewalks and bike paths. Slower cyclists such as young children can also use the walking route. Both parades will be slow, showy and non-competitive. There will be a small festival with speakers, raffles and letter-writing opportunities afterwards.

Participants are encouraged to dress up both themselves and their bikes. There will be prizes for the most creative parade attire and bicycle floats. Signs are also encouraged indicating why participants  support a more bike-able and walk-able long Island.

Pre-registration is not required, but is encouraged. Pre-register at: www.Car-lessLI.org/parade2018 . There are tee-shirts for the first 20 pre-registered participants (who show up).

Hofstra University is pleased to have the public join us for some of our on-campus events, which are held for the benefit of our students. Please be aware, when attending events during the school year, when classes are in session, parking is often limited on South Campus to faculty and students. There is additional parking available on North Campus, approximately a 10-minute walk from Adams Playhouse, through the Student Center and over the unispan. Thank you for your cooperation.
