Hofstra Men's Lacrosse vs. Monmouth University--Rescheduled

The Hofstra Men's Lacrosse team, fresh off their 12-6 victory over eighth-ranked North Carolina on Saturday, will return to action this Wednesday, March 14 when the Pride face the Hawks of Monmouth at James M. Shuart Stadium. Game time is 3 p.m. 

The Pride, who are 2-2 on the season, are riding a two-game winning streak with wins over Stony Brook, 14-2 on February 27, and the 12-6 win over the Tar Heels of North Carolina this past Saturday. In the win over UNC, the Pride scored the first eight goals of the game before the Tar Heels dented the net for the first time in the third quarter. Pride sophomore Ryan Tierney tallied two goals and two assists, freshman Dylan McIntosh and senior Alex Moeser tallied two goals and one assist. Senior Dylan Alderman and junior Jimmy Yanes each posted one goal and two assists while senior Brendan Kavanagh added two goals. Senior Jack Concannonshowed why he earned All-American honors last season with nine saves, many point-blank, against the Tar Heels. Sophomore Kyle Gallagher won 13 of 20 face-offs for Hofstra. The Pride also gave Hofstra Head Coach Seth Tierney his 100th career coaching victory.

On the season, Hofstra is led in scoring by Tierney with nine goals and six assists. Alderman has four goals and a team-high seven assists and Yanes has seven goals and three assists. Concannon has a 5.78 goals against average with 37 saves and a .617 save percentage. Hofstra averages 8.75 goals per game and allows 6.0 goals per contest.

The Hawks of Monmouth are 2-3 on the season with wins over Wagner (17-4) and UMass Lowell (9-8) and losses to Princeton (9-8 in two OTs), Delaware (15-11) and, most recently, Saint Joseph's (11-5) on Saturday. The Hawks average 10 goals per game and allow 9.4 per outing.

Monmouth is led in scoring by senior Bryce Wasserman with nine goals and five assists. Junior Hunter Jones has tallied nine goals and one assist while senior Dylan Schulte has added six goals and three assists. Senior Dan Bloodgood has chipped in with six goals and one assist. Freshman Noah Lode has made 53 saves and has a 9.56 goals against average with a .545 save percentage in five games this season.
After the Monmouth game, Hofstra will head out on the road to Rhode Island on Saturday, March 17 for a St. Patrick's Day contest against the Friars of Providence at 1 p.m.


This was originally scheduled for Tuesday, March 13 at 7:00 p.m. but was postponed due to the latest storm to strike the east coast. The game will be played on Wednesday, March 14 at 3 p.m. at Shuart Stadium.
