Hofstra Softball vs. Drexel (DH)

The No. 25 Hofstra Softball team will play its final home conference series of the season, hosting Drexel for three games at Bill Edwards Stadium.¬† The series will begin with a doubleheader at 2 p.m. on Saturday, followed by a single game at 12 p.m. on Sunday. The Pride will honor its seven seniors ‚Ä"¬†Brittany Allocca,¬†Sarah Edwards,¬†Nikki Michalowski,¬†Kaitlyne Musa,¬†Megan Patierno,¬†Brielle Pietrafesa¬†and¬†Michaela Transue¬†‚Ä" in a special Senior Day ceremony prior to Sunday's game.

The Pride (31-8, 12-0 CAA), nationally ranked for the first time since 2013, will look to extend its 13-game win streak after sweeping a midweek doubleheader with Wagner on Tuesday and topping LIU Brooklyn on Wednesday. Musa was 4-for-7 with five RBIs in the midweek games, while reigning CAA Player of the Week Pietrafesa had five hits, including a triple and a home run. Sophomore Sarah Cornell struck out 11 in Game 1 against Wagner before freshman Sophie Dandola followed it up with a career-high 10 strikeouts in Game 2.
The Dragons picked up a doubleheader sweeps against Saint Peter's and La Salle this week to improve to 17-19-2 on the season, holding a 3-9 record in conference with wins over Charleston and Delaware.
Seven Dragons are batting over .300, with Kristi DiMeo (.407) and Taylor Kent (.403) leading the way. DiMeo has 11 homers and 40 RBIs on the season while Linda Rush has 10 home runs and a team-best 43 RBIs.
Drexel splits work between three pitchers with Brooklyn Daly leading the way with a 3.50 ERA.
Hofstra took two of three from the Dragons a season ago to increase its lead in the all-time series to 66-11.
After the series with Drexel, the Pride will head to local rival Stony Brook on Thursday at 4 p.m.
