Hofstra Softball vs. Wagner (DH)

 The Hofstra Softball team will square off against a pair of Northeast Conference opponents this week. The Pride will host Wagner for a doubleheader at a new start time of 3 p.m. on Tuesday at Bill Edwards Stadium before traveling to LIU Brooklyn for a single game at 4 p.m. on Wednesday at LIU Field.
 
Hofstra (28-8, 12-0 CAA) extended its win streak to 10 games and stayed unbeaten in conference play with a series sweep at Delaware over the weekend, outscoring the Blue Hens, 33-9. Senior Brielle Pietrafesa was 5-for-9 in the series with two doubles, two home runs and eight RBIs to earn CAA Player of the Week. Redshirt-senior Michaela Transue had five hits on the weekend with four RBIs, while senior Nikki Michalowski also put up five hits, including two doubles and a triple. In the circle, sophomore Sarah Cornell struck out 10 in a complete-game shutout victory in Game 1.

The Seahawks dropped a Northeast Conference doubleheader to Saint Francis on Saturday to fall to 12-21 and 2-7 in the league. Hannah Lewis leads the team with a .344 average, while Karen Prihoda carries a .343 average and a team-best 23 RBIs. In the circle, Morgan Brown (5-10) has seen the most work, posting a 3.75 ERA. The Pride holds a 29-4 advantage in the all-time series with Wagner.
