Good Food/Good Work

Join food justice activists, pioneering chefs, and media innovators as they talk about their passion for good food and good work. Hofstra’s Minor in Food Studies program presents this multimedia program to introduce an exciting new field of study. Food is powerful. It is at the intersection of culture and nature, past and present, intimate family connections and global trade, social life and politics. This interactive multimedia event introduces us to media-makers, chefs, farmers, educators, and organizers based in New York City who are all using food to engage with society in transformative ways.

Moderator: Ora Wise
Ora Wise is a food activist who is the director of food programs for the Allied Media Conference in Detroit. She formerly served as head chef of Harvest & Revel, an all women and GLBT catering company based in Brooklyn.
