Hofstra Jazz Ensemble

The Hofstra Music Department presents Hofstra Jazz Ensemble performing “Dig This”. The evening includes performances by the Hofstra Jazz Ensemble under the direction of Professor of Music David Lalama, The Hofstra Sax-tet directed by Jacob Fruchtl, and special guests the Hofstra Vocal Jazz Quartet and Dr. Leon Petruzzi on lead trumpet.

A sampling of the songs on the program is: “This I Dig of You” by Hank Mobley; “The Waltz You ‘Swang’ for Me” by Thad Jones; “I Got Rhythm” by George Gershwin; “500 Miles High” by Chick Corea; “Billie’s Bounce” by Charlie Parker; and “Take the ‘A’ Train” by Billy Strayhorn.

Tickets: $10 general admission; $8 senior citizen (over 65); Two free tickets with current HofstraCard. 

Tickets for the Jazz Concert may be purchased through the Hofstra Box Office at 516-463-6644, online or at the door. (Please note, free tickets for Hofstra community members cannot be reserved online. They may be picked up at the Box Office.) 

 

2018 performances are on sale now. Unless a performance is sold out, tickets are also available for purchase at the door (by cash or check only) beginning at least 60 minutes before showtime.

PARKING NOTICE

Hofstra University is pleased to have the public join us for some of our on-campus events, which are held for the benefit of our students. Please be aware, when attending events during the school year, when classes are in session, parking is often limited on South Campus to faculty and students. There is additional parking available on North Campus, approximately a 10-minute walk from Adams Playhouse, through the Student Center and over the unispan. Thank you for your cooperation.
