Italian American Experience Lecture Series: The Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire and Monument--POSTPONED University Closed

Due to inclement weather forecasts, anticipated high winds and unfavorable travel conditions at rush hour, Hofstra University will be closed on Tuesday, March 13th. Classes are cancelled, offices will be closed, and the Child Care Institute will be closed. Please check www.hofstra.edu or call 463-SNOW for additional information on the status and hours of operation of campus facilities.

• Dining: Student Center, Netherlands, and Dutch Treats will be open for regular scheduled hours of operation.
- Student Center -  7:30 a.m. - 10 p.m.
- Netherlands -  8 a.m. - 8 p.m.
- Dutch Treats -  24 hours

• For the convenience of those already on campus, the Fitness Center hours will be 6am-8pm.

• Library will be open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with limited services.

• Shuttles will run their already published schedules as long as conditions allow

Dr. Mary Anne Trasciatti of Hofstra University will discuss The Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire and Monument in a Italian American Experience lecture. She is president of The Triangle Factory Fire Coalition Inc.

The Joseph G. Astman Cultural Events are presented in loving memory of Dr. Joseph G. Astman, founder of the Hofstra Cultural Center. Dr. Astman was a humanist, cultural comparatist, and international scholar.

PARKING NOTICE

Hofstra University is pleased to have the public join us for some of our on-campus events, which are held for the benefit of our students. Please be aware, when attending events during the school year, when classes are in session, parking is often limited on South Campus to faculty and students. There is additional parking available on North Campus, approximately a 10-minute walk from Adams Playhouse, through the Student Center and over the unispan. Thank you for your cooperation.
