New Frontiers: Art and Technology

Experimenting with a commercial printing press for fine art printmaking was pushing the boundaries in the later part of the 20th century, as seen in the exhibition Portfolios II: Offset Lithographic Prints. Newer technologies such as 3-D printing are now transforming how artists approach their work. Join Hofstra University Assistant Professor of Engineering Ted Segal, PhD, as he leads a conversation on technologies and the blurring of engineering and art.

Participants: Richard Banks, president, Reflex Offset Printing Inc. (commercial printer); Dan Reynolds, senior applications engineer, Thornton Tomasetti; Susan Schafer, PhD, adjunct assistant professor, fine arts, design, art history, Hofstra University; Scot Thompson, artist.
