Romare Bearden: Storyteller--CANCELLED University Closed
Due to inclement weather forecasts and anticipated travel and other impacts, Hofstra University will be closed on Wednesday, March 7th.
• Classes are cancelled
• Offices will be closed
• The Child Care Institute will be closed
• The library will be closed
• The Fitness Center will be open from 6 a.m. to noon
• Dining: Student Center, Netherlands, and Dutch Treats will be open for regular scheduled hours of operation.

The narrative themes of Romare Bearden’s work spanned historical, political, and religious topics. Through his innovative works of art, Bearden communicated his ideas and thoughts about everyday African American life in 20th century America. The exhibition includes prints in a variety of methods (aquatint, engraving, etching, lithograph, and silkscreen) from the Hofstra University Museum Collections.
Funding has been provided by Sterling National Bank and the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and the New York State Legislature.

Tuesday - Friday, 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. | Saturday - Sunday, Noon - 4:00 p.m.
Summer Hours (May 13-September 2, 2018): Tuesday-Friday, 11 a.m.-4 p.m.
Galleries are closed on major holidays, during Hofstra University recesses, and during exhibition installations. (Note: David Filderman Gallery will be closed for installation March 12-26, 2018, and Emily Lowe Gallery will be closed for installation August 18-September 3, 2018.)
