Hofstra Women's Lacrosse vs. Elon

The Hofstra Women's Lacrosse team will host Elon on Friday in the Pride's first Colonial Athletic Association game of the season. First draw control is scheduled for 3 p.m. from James M. Shuart Stadium. The Pride has won three straight games to improve to 6-4 this season following a 17-7 victory over New Hampshire last Thursday. Sophomore Alyssa Parrella is tops on the team in scoring with 49 points on team-highs of 35 goals and 14 assists. Sophomore Alexa Mattera, who ranks second in scoring (31 points) is first with 40 draw controls and tied for the team lead with 11 caused turnovers. Sophomore Darcie Smith leads the Pride with 21 ground balls. Junior Maddie Fields anchors the Pride in net with a save percentage of .500 and a goals against average of 9.59. 

Elon is 1-8 this season but has played a very strong schedule that so far has featured six ranked opponents. They most recently dropped a narrow 14-12 decision to Virginia Tech on March 24. Stephanie Anser has a team-high 27 points for Elon on 25 goals and two assists. Shannon Horan has 18 ground balls and 13 caused turnovers to lead the Phoenix in both categories, while Asher has 45 draw controls as well. 

Hofstra is 1-2 all-time against Elon. The Pride won the first-ever meeting with Elon in 2015, but the Phoenix have won the last two encounters.
