Hofstra Women's Basketball vs. Elon

The Hofstra Women's Basketball team returns home to the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex for a three-game homestand, beginning with a 7 p.m. matchup with Elon on Friday. The Pride (10-14, 4-9 CAA) will be looking to get back on track this weekend after falling to Delaware, 61-41, on the road on Sunday. Senior Aleana Leon led the Pride with 11 points, marking her team-leading 15th game in double figures this season.

Defending CAA Champion Elon (17-7, 9-4 CAA) dismantled Charleston, 97-44, on Sunday, and currently sits in third in the CAA standings. The Phoenix also topped Drexel last Friday, serving the Dragons just their second conference loss of the season. Shay Burnett leads the team in points, rebounds and assists.

Elon holds a 5-2 advantage in the all-time series with Hofstra as one of the newest teams to join the CAA. The sides last met in the CAA Quarterfinals last season, with the Phoenix coming away with a 78-50 win en route to winning the tournament championship. Leon had a career day for the Pride, scoring 22 points, while Elon had four players finish in double figures.

Hofstra stays at home on Sunday, hosting Towson at 2 p.m. at the Mack Sports Complex for Girl Scout Day and National Women In Sports Day. The event includes a pre-game clinic and Girl Scout patch. Call (516) HOF-TIXX to register.
