Hofstra Women's Basketball vs. William & Mary

The Hofstra Women's Basketball team will host William & Mary for Health and Fitness Education Day at 11:30 a.m. on Friday at the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex. Health and fitness professionals will give special presentations prior to the game, with students from local elementary schools in attendance.

The Pride (9-8, 3-3 CAA) have won three of their last four, including topping Charleston, 65-60, on Sunday at home. Senior Olivia Askin led Hofstra in scoring with 15 points, going 5-for-5 from three-point range, making her a perfect 11-for-11 from behind the arc against the Cougars this season. Classmate Ashunae Durant picked up her second double-double in as many games with 13 points and 13 rebounds, while Aleana Leon rounded out the scoring from the trio of seniors with 12 points.
William & Mary (12-4, 3-2 CAA) is coming off a win over defending CAA champion Elon, 81-75, last weekend. The Tribe was a dominant 9-2 in non-conference play and is off to a 3-2 start in CAA action. William & Mary opened conference play with wins over Charleston and UNCW, before dropping close games to Towson and Drexel.
The Tribe leads the conference with a .459 field-goal percentage, while Jenna Green leads the league with an impressive 7.0 assists per game and Abby Rendle tops the conference and the nation with 5.1 blocks per game. Bianca Boggs leads four scorers averaging double figures with 16.3 points per game.
The matchup will be the 40th all-time meeting between the teams. Hofstra leads the series 28-10-1, with the sides splitting the season series last year as both teams won on home court.
