Hofstra Men's Basketball vs. Army West Point

The Hofstra Men's Basketball team will open the 2017-18 season on Friday, November 10 when it hosts Army West Point. Tip-off from the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex is scheduled for 7 p.m. The game will serve as Hofstra's Military Appreciation Game with plenty going on to honor them. All military and their families will be receiving free tickets to the game. There will be free camouflage hats for the first 1,000 fans in attendance.

The Pride will look to build off of last season's 15-win team as the Pride return a trio of talented starters in senior Rokas Gustys, junior Justin Wright-Foreman and sophomore Eli Pemberton. Hofstra returns a total of seven players from last season and will add to that six strong newcomers as they look to capture a Colonial Athletic Association title this season.

Hofstra is 3-1 in season openers under Coach Mihalich and is 9-7 in season openers since joining the Colonial Athletic Association in 2001-02. Hofstra is 46-35 all-time in season openers.

Hofstra is 7-5 all-time against Army West Point. The teams first met during the 1960-61 season with the Black Knights winning 77-74 in overtime. The last game in the series occurred during the 1995-96 campaign with the Pride capturing an 82-58 victory.
