Andy Warhol
This original exhibition of works by Andy Warhol, a major pop artist and art celebrity of the 20th century, includes a selection of his screenprints and photographs from the Hofstra University Museum Collections. By juxtaposing his photographs with his screenprints, the exhibition contextualizes and reveals his working methods and artistic process. As a participant in the Andy Warhol Photographic Legacy Program since 2008, the Museum has received donations of 153 photographs (Polaroids and gelatin silver prints) and nine screenprints from The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts Inc.
An Exhibition Reception for Andy Warhol will be held on Thursday, October 5, 4-6 p.m. Guest Host: Susannah Ray, Associate Professor of Fine Arts, Design, Art History, Hofstra University. Light refreshments will be served. Advance registration is required. To register or for more information, call the Hofstra University Museum at 516-463-5672.
