Creativity Week: Virtual Reality (VR) Test-Drive -- CANCELLED

Due to the inclement weather forecast and the University’s closure on Tuesday, March 14, many of the events scheduled for March 13-15 with the theme “Celebrating Creativity,” including tonight’s poetry workshop with Professor Janet Kaplan and those featuring choreographer Twyla Tharp and author Keith Sawyer, have been canceled. The Hofstra Cultural Center is working on rescheduling them for a future date. Visit for updates.

Events that are proceeding as scheduled are:

·        Today, March 13, 3-4 p.m., 3-D Printing Workshop at Room 106 Calkins Hall from 3-4 p.m., sponsored by Student Computing Services. Watch a 3-D printer in action and get a printout to take home.

·        Thursday, March 16, 10 a.m.-4 pm. Hofstra-CPXi Venture Challenge Semifinal Round and NYS Business Plan Competition Qualifying Round at the IdeaHUB, 2nd Floor, Axinn Library.

The Wednesday, March 15, “Great Writers, Great Readings” event featuring A. Van Jordan at 6:30 p.m. will be announced depending on that day’s weather conditions.

Learn about the history of virtual reality and explore the various ways you can experience VR at this workshop run by Student Computing Services. Test-drive a virtual reality headset as well.
