Baseball vs. Elon -- Postponed

After playing their final non-conference game of the season this past Tuesday, the Hofstra University Baseball team is back in action this weekend when it hosts Elon in a Colonial Athletic Association series that was to begin Friday afternoon at 3 p.m. but due to rain will begin with a doubleheader on Saturday at noon at University Field. The final game in the series will be played at 1 p.m. on Sunday, as scheduled.

Hofstra is 11-31 on the season and 4-9 in CAA play and, with nine games left in the conference season, will need to string together some wins to stay in contention for a CAA Championship berth.

The Phoenix is 20-25 overall, but 10-8 in CAA play and are tied for sixth place in the league. Elon has lost five of their last six games and is coming off a 10-3 setback against UNCG this past Tuesday.

Elon leads the all-time series with Hofstra, 4-2. The Phoenix took all three games last season at Elon. The Pride won two of the three meetings at home in 2015.
