Hofstra Symphony Orchestra

Hofstra Department of Music presents the Hofstra Symphony Orchestra with Adam Glaser, director performing Heroes & Legends in the Toni and Martin Sosnoff Theater, John Cranford Adams Playhouse on Friday, May 12 at 8 p.m. The theme of the concert is “Heroes and Legends.” Works include:

  • Richard Wagner’s  Overture to Rienzi
  • Edvard Grieg’s Peer Gynt Suite No. 1, Op. 46 and Peer Gynt Suite No. 2, Op. 55
  • Zoltán Kodály’s Intermezzo from Háry János
  • Finlandia, Op. 26 by Jean Sibelius
  • Special appearance by the Hofstra Chamber Orchestra performing the Don Quixote Suite (”Burlesque de Quixotte”) by Georg Philipp Telemann

Location: Toni and Martin Sosnoff Theater, John Cranford Adams Playhouse, South Campus

Tickets: $10 general admission; $8 senior citizen (over 65) or matriculated non-Hofstra student with ID. Two free tickets with current faculty/staff/student HofstraCard. 

Tickets are available through the Hofstra Box Office by calling 516-463-6644, Monday-Friday, 11 a.m. - 3:45 p.m. and at HofstraTickets.com. Unless a performance is sold out, tickets are also available for purchase at the door (by cash or check only) starting 90 minutes before showtime.

Tickets on sale beginning January 2.

Hofstra University is pleased to have the public join us for some of our on-campus events, which are held for the benefit of our students. Please be aware, when attending events during the school year, when classes are in session, parking is often limited on South Campus to faculty and students. There is additional parking available on North Campus, approximately a 10-minute walk from Adams Playhouse, through the Student Center and over the unispan. Thank you for your cooperation.
